WHAT IS 2-1-1?

2-1-1 is Aloha United Way’s free and a confidential statewide helpline connecting individuals and families with resources and information.

WHAT CAN 2-1-1 HELP ME FIND?

2-1-1 specialists can search through over 4,000 government and nonprofit services and programs to find the information and resources you need. Requests include finding food, shelter, clothing, financial assistance, childcare, parenting support, elderly care, disability services and more! You may also do a direct search of the service categories in our online database.

AUW 2-1-1 follows the standards of the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why do I need to give personal information?

Everyone contacting AUW 2-1-1 is asked for their zip code, age, and gender. Our specialists use this information to search for resources that are near you and available for a specific age or gender. None of the information collected will be used to identify you.

The only exception is for individuals wanting to know if they are eligible for SNAP benefits and who agree to a SNAP pre-screen. In such cases, we would ask your consent and collect additional information, such as the name and age of family members. We take your personal information very seriously and will never share it without your consent

What happens with my personal information?

Your information is collected to ensure you receive the best assistance possible. Everything that you share with 2-1-1 is completely confidential. We do not share identifying information with any outside entities.

How many services can I find in the database?

Aloha United Way's 2-1-1 is the hub for social services in Hawai'i! There are over 4,000 local social service resources listed in our database. All listings are made up of health, social, nonprofit, and government services - there are no commercial or personal listings in our database.

What if I don't live on Oahu?

Our database includes resources for all Hawaiian Islands. Enter your zip code to learn about resources near you.

When you dial 2-1-1 you will be connected with the 2-1-1 agency in your area code. If you're outside of Hawai'i, call our toll-free number, we will be happy to assist you with connecting to a 2-1-1 near you.

I don't speak English very well. Can I still call 2-1-1?

Yes! We have a working relationship with a telecommunication provider that can offer live translation in over 150 languages
